In the afternoon, you will have an opportunity to speak to an appraiser about objects you bring. Perhaps you have something you’ve inherited that you want to know more about. Or maybe you have an antique or piece of art that you think might be valuable. This is your chance to find out! Our appraisers will tell you whether what you have is simply a decorative item or whether it isvaluable enough to warrant the closer examination of an appraisal. We will have 17 appraisers whose specialities include books & documents; Asian art & antiques; fine & costume jewelry; art (paintings, sculpture, works on paper); dolls; china, porcelian & silver; furniture; canes & walking sticks; antique guns & weapons; needlework & textiles.
And . . . new this year . . . we will have five conservators who will tell you whether a broken object can be repaired and what an approximate cost would be. We have experts in Documents & Paper; Paintings; Textiles; Glass & Ceramics; and Wooden Objects.
